The tattoos have some typical Polynesian symbols patterns such as 
Spearheads - strength, courage, fight.
Sun - stands for riches, brilliance, grandness and leadership. 
shark teeth - represents shelter or coverage, guidance, power, ferocity, adaptability 
Waves/ocean - life, fertility and persistence, also represents heaven, where we go after death.
Turtle shells - long life (eternity), wellness, fertility, union, family and harmony. It also symbolizes the navigator.
Fish - usually regarded as a symbol of prosperity, riches, fertility and life.
Marquesan cross - symbolizing balance between elements and harmony.
